Complete Storytelling Wokshop, 28 March

A special training event – designed to help tourism businesses recover from the impacts of the pandemic by capitalising on the opportunities offered by Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022 – takes place in Aberdeen at the end of this month.

This Themed Year is shining a spotlight on the wealth of stories inspired by or created in Scotland. Throughout 2022 an extensive events programme across the country will ensure public awareness and promote involvement, giving our tourism industry a wealth of scope to tie in its activities and benefit from the themed year. There has therefore never been a more important or appropriate time for businesses to unlock the full potential of their stories.

Whatever their type, size or location, every business connected to tourism has stories to tell. Great stories are at the heart of outstanding consumer experiences. Creating and delivering engaging and memorable stories has the power to drive footfall, generate public interest and engagement, and increase secondary spend.

In recognition of this, a series of ten Complete Storytelling workshops is currently underway at locations all over Scotland to arm those working in tourism with the practical tools they need to reap the benefits of storytelling. These inspirational one-day events will teach delegates theory and practical aspects of communications and sales skills to enable them to enhance customer service delivery and re-build income streams.

This highly practical course is being offered at the vastly reduced rate of just £50 inclusive of VAT as a result of funding support from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and the Scottish Government. (This calibre of tailored training would normally cost in the region of £150-£200 per delegate).

Storytelling experts Complete Works is delivering the specialist workshops.  Using performance, body language and voice techniques tried and tested by actors and presenters, the experienced trainers teach how to create and deliver stories that result in exceptional consumer experiences and generate increased income.

The Aberdeen Complete Storytelling workshop takes place on 28 March, 9.30am - 4.15pm, at The Gordon Highlanders Museum. Details and a booking link for this event can be found here.
