VisitAberdeenshire recruits new board members to support tourism recovery in north-east of Scotland

VisitAberdeenshire has appointed three new members to its Board of Directors from the hospitality and culture sectors.

Leah Hodder, Allan Henderson and Jordan Charles have been recruited to the board, which is led by Chair Claire Bruce and provides counsel to the VisitAberdeenshire leadership team.

Leah Hodder is currently Director of Marketing and Communications at Aberdeen Performing Arts, where she oversees marketing and communications for three city centre venues, His Majesty’s Theatre, the Music Hall and the Lemon Tree.

Allan Henderson is Director of the McGinty’s Group, with hospitality establishments across the region including The Silver Darling, No.10 Bar & Restaurant and the Ferryhill House Hotel.

Jordan Charles is General Manager of Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course.

Claire Bruce, VisitAberdeenshire Chair said: “Leah, Allan and Jordan’s wealth of experience in the culture and hospitality industries will be hugely valuable, as they join the team at a pivotal time for both the organisation and the tourism sector.

“With strong representation from the licensed trade, culture venues and hoteliers, the board is well placed to provide key strategic direction to the VisitAberdeenshire team. I warmly welcome our new recruits and look forward to a successful tenure as board members.”

VisitAberdeenshire is funded by Opportunity North East, Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council.

Pre-pandemic, direct tourism expenditure in the north-east contributed more than £730 million to the local economy every year, supporting almost 18,500 jobs across nearly 1400 diverse businesses.
