VisitAberdeenshire meets travel buyers at international virtual event

VisitAberdeenshire has exhibited in a virtual travel trade fair, with buyers from around the world looking to develop product knowledge about the north-east of Scotland’s tourism offering.

Hosted by the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA), VisitAberdeenshire took part in the virtual annual City Fair event, that brought travel buyers and product developers together in a one-day schedule of online meetings.

VisitAberdeenshire’s Senior Travel Trade Development Executive Raeanne Verlegh met tour operators, wholesalers and online intermediaries from throughout Europe, China and the USA, with a keen interest to discover more about Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire’s tourism businesses.

Chris Foy, VEO, VisitAberdeenshire said: “The City Fair event provided useful insight into what buyers are looking to promote to their clients. The theme of the day was very much around recovery and planning ahead to 2021.

“The product offering in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire is strong, with many buyers interested in the region’s food and drink, outdoors and authentic ‘meet the locals’ experiences.

“With the reopening of some tourism businesses earlier this month, we’ll continue to support businesses, and the travel trade, with planning for 2021 and beyond.”

VisitAberdeenshire is supported by Opportunity North East, Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council.
