Our NorthernNights winter campaign was launched on 14 October 2024.
The NorthernNights campaign will run from October through to the end of January and will feature imagery of starry skies and the city buzz in the darker months. The campaign will be pitched to travel media around the region’s experiences, along with a paid-for media campaign, with an incentive prize to attract targeted audiences to sign up for more information.
We are live across paid social media with a static ad and video ad, these ads are lead generating, which helps us build our consumer database. We also have contextual advertising called Nano, which places our ads in relevant places. For example, if you were reading a news article about the Northern Lights, or travel in Scotland, our ads may appear.
Those who see our ads are encouraged to enter our competition, which includes:
- Two-night stay for four people at Cairngorm Bothies & Lodges
- Astrophotography session for four people with WhiteSky Photographics
- £100 Hillgoers voucher
- £50 Aberdeen gift card
- £50 Tippling House voucher

Caledonian Sleeper is also a partner for an element of the campaign, with separate paid social media ads targeting to Greater London now live. We have a separate competition for this element too, including:
