VisitAberdeenshire bolsters team with four new recruits

VisitAberdeenshire has appointed four new team members to assist in the development and promotion of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire as a vibrant tourist destination.

Laura Wilson joins the VisitAberdeenshire leadership team as Head of Convention Bureau, from Edinburgh-based Speakeasy Productions.  Aberdeen Convention Bureau is an arm of VisitAberdeenshire, that works in collaboration with venue partners, universities and academics to bid for business events, and provides in-destination support to conference organisers and delegates.

Gemma Laing has been appointed Partnerships Executive, a new role that will develop VisitAberdeenshire’s commercial opportunities for local businesses.

Alanna Fowler joins as Travel Trade Executive, who will be responsible for promoting Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to UK and international trade intermediaries to grow leisure business across the region.

Maryn Grieve, VisitAberdeenshire’s new Tourism Development Executive, will work with colleagues to deliver the Industry Development Programme, a pioneering series of workshops, webinars and one-to-one advice sessions that help businesses thrive.

Chris Foy, CEO, VisitAberdeenshire, said: “These key appointments are timely, as we strengthen our team before the busy autumn/winter period, and continue to support the North-east tourism sector following the pandemic and ongoing trading challenges.

“I warmly welcome Laura, Gemma, Alanna and Maryn to the team and look forward to collaborating on exciting future projects.”
